Put Your Money On Davis & White

One of these is not like the others

To figure skating fans, Meryl Davis and Charlie White need no introduction. They are two times and reigning Ice Dance Champion, five times Grand Prix Final Champion, six times U.S. National Champion, and the reigning Olympic Silver medallist from Vancouver 2010. They are undefeated since the 2012 World Championships with their international winning streak at 12 heading into the upcoming Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

And let's face it, they will become the Olympic Champs after the Games are all said and done. The deck is so stacked in their favor it has become a farce to witness. Figure Skating and especially the discipline of Ice Dance has always been a very political sport and it is really questionable how can a team with weak edge works and unstable lifts are constantly awarded the highest scores both technically and in terms of program construction if it weren't for heavy politics. This place isn't about calling things unfair for their supposedly heated rivals Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, but calling unfair for the entire sport of Ice Dance.

Meryl and Charlie are not the best Ice Dancers today regardless what the judges want us to believe, they are not even the second best.

  2. One of these is not like the others indeed! All have deep curved edges, beautiful lines, fantastic rhythm, and innovative lifts. One team skates on flats and the guy drags the girl around on two feet, have fugly positions and carriage, skates the same to any music, and recycles old lifts from Belbin & Agosto (badly).
